I made a little snowman
and then I couldn’t stop.
Pretty soon my snowman
was bigger than a mop.

Running Race

Elizabeth (Williamson) Vignali (Grade 5)

Sprinting, sprinting, on the track,
You swallow a bug and start to hack.

Deeper, deeper, down it goes.
The wiggling feet go to your toes.

The bug is crawling up again,
You’re losing pace, you’re down to ten.

You spit it out, now it’s gone.
You don’t pout, you’re up to one.

You run faster and faster and faster,
That one person you’ve got to master!

One more curve and the prize is yours,
So you swerve where applause now pours.

You’re so proud you start to strut—
But next time, keep your mouth shut!
